Kamoeba (カメーバ - kamēba, Megalo matamata) is a giant turtle that first appeared in the Toho movie Yog, Monster from Space (a.k.a. Space Amoeba). In the movie, the alien Yog takes over the bodies of a cuttlefish, a turtle, and two lobsters. The turtle is altered by Yog into a giant form called Kameba. Kameba and one of the lobsters, which is mutated into a monster called Ganimes, attack Selga Island.

It is later discovered that Yog and all the creatures he controls are harmed by supersonic waves, and a swarm of bats halt Yog's control of Kameba and Ganimes. The two monsters fight each other, eventually making their way to the top of the island's volcano. Ganimes flips Kameba into the volcano, but Kameba manages to bite onto Ganimes' claw and drag him in, too.

In the movie Godzilla: Tokyo SOS
a second Kameba is found dead, washed up on the beach with bite marks in its neck. It is thought to have been killed by Mothra as a warning to get rid of Kiryu's bones, though where the second Kameba came from is unknown.
