Kamen Rider Blade (仮面ライダー剣 , meaning "Masked Rider Sword ") is a Japanese tokusatsu superhero television series. It is the 13th installment in the famous Kamen Rider series. It was broadcast on TV Asahi from January 25, 2004 to January 23, 2005. It is a joint collaboration between Ishimori Productions and Toei.Rider Systems
In the TV show, 3 different armored suits utilizing the Rider System had been produced by the B.O.A.R.D. organization. Their wearers were known as Kamen Riders:
- Kamen Rider Garren
- Kamen Rider Blade
- Kamen Rider Leangle
With the addition of the Joker, Aikawa Hajime, in the guise of Chalice, is also regarded as a Kamen Rider.
The movie adaptation Missing Ace introduced 3 additional Kamen Riders:
The Rider System uses the power of sealed Category Ace Undead. The Undead are captured by the Riders by depleting their AP (attack points) and sealing them into blank cards (known as "Proper Blanks"). It fuses the user with the Undead at a genetic level, changing him/her into a Kamen Rider. - Wild Card: Used by Chalice Wild Form; formed from all 13 Heart Type cards when Wild Slashers are inserted into the Chalice Arrow. Initiates attack called "WILD CYCLONE."
- Blank Vanity: Created from the 4 Evolution King Cards.
- Vanity 14: Amane's sealed card; used as a sacrifice to awaken Jyushin 14.
- Black Joker: Hajime's sealed card as a Joker Undead.
- Albino Joker: Shimura's sealed card as a Joker Undead.
- Change Keroberos (Gold): Glaive Henshin Card/Keroberos Henshin Card (an artificial card created by BOARD)
- Change Keroberos (Green): Lance Henshin Card
- Change Keroberos (Red): L'arc Henshin Card
- Mighty Gravity: A stronger version of Spade Type-Category 2: SLASH LIZARD; initiates Glaive's final attack called "GRAVITY SLASH" which is an equivalent of Blade's "Lightning Slash."
- Mighty Impact: A stronger version of Club Type-Category 2: STAB BEE; initiates Glaive's final attack called "IMPACT STAB" which is an equivalent of Leangle's "Blizzard Venom."
- Mighty Ray: A stronger version of Diamond Type-Category 2: BULLET ARMADILLO; initiates Glaive's final attack called "RAY BULLET" which is an equivalent of Garren's "Burning Shot."
The Undead
The Undead are 'monsters' in the series. There were originally 53 undead, according to the story (as 52 cards plus a Joker card makes up a common card deck). There is a second Joker (Albino Joker), although it is not canon with the TV series as it only appeared in the movie "Missing Ace" (which served as an alternate ending for the series). The story of these Undead drives the main plot of the story. Ages ago, there was a battle to decide what species will rule the Earth. The 52 undead represent 52 different species, and the battle was free-for-all. The losers would be sealed in a stone slab, similar to the Proper Blank cards in the present time. The powerful Joker is also in the battle, and if it wins, the world would be flooded with giant roaches and mankind would be doomed. Apparently, the current victor of that historic battle was the 2 of Hearts (also known as the Human Undead), and so the world has been populated by humans ever since. In the present, human archeologists have discovered the sealed undead and accidentally set them free again. Thus, a new battle begins.
Among the Undeads, there are several special Undeads, including Royal Club Undeads and the Joker. Royal Club are Undeads of Category Jack, Queen, and King. They are more powerful than mere Undeads. They can also disguise as human and speak human language. The Joker is special since he represents no species and will bring destruction if he wins the battle. Joker can also takes the form a sealed Undead.

- Eagle Undead - Kougen. He made a pact with Mantis Undead to fight as twol last Undeads standing 10,000 years ago. At present day, he misidentifies Hajime as Mantis Undead as he sees Hajime transforms into Chalice.
- Mole Undead
- Wolf Undead - Shinmei. He turns people into werewolves and pretends to be Undead Hunter who hunts the werewolves down. His ultimate plan is to empowering Black Fang, a bike stolen from B.O.A.R.D.
- Elephant Undead - Daichi. A pacifist Undead but he has an enormous physical strength. He usually found sunbathing near a pool.
- Tarantula Undead - Noburu Shima. The wisest one. Shima is different from other Undead as he has a good heart and loves humanity. He has a yellow canary bird named Natural.

- Pecker Undead
- Serpent Undead - Azumi. She is hunting for Joker and brings Tortoise Undead to help her.

- Human Undead - He dubs himself "Category 2" and acts as one of Hajime's split personalities.
- Caucasusbeetle Undead - King. An annoying but strong one. He loves to cause trouble and mess up with everybody. He also steals Hajime's rouse cards to push him back into Joker form.

- Jellyfish Undead
- Mantis Undead - Given the name "Chalice the Legendary Undead" the best fighter of all the undeads, which is why Hajime uses his form as a rider. Along with the Category 2, it supresses the power of the Black Joker.
- Tiger Undead - Hikaru Jou. She has a great pride and fights with dignity. Later on she becomes Mutsuki's friend.
- Giraffa Undead - Nokogiri Kanei. He is the first Undead to learn the truth about the fake Undead battle. He then kills Tennouji and takes the Cerberus card to seal the Joker.
- Lizard Undead
- Titan - The combined DNA of the Scorpion and Chameleon Undeads.
- Kerberos - An artificial undead which can absorb other undead, similar to the Joker.
- Kerberos II - Instead of changing to a rider, Tennouji can change into a undead by fusing himself with the Keroberos Undead through a device created from the stone slab.
- Squid Undead - Appears in Missing Ace.
- Rhinocerosbeetle Undead - Appears in Missing Ace.
- Darkroach/Albinoroach - Mankind's destruction, if the Joker Undeads is the victor of the battle fight.
