King Neptune (voiced by John O'Hurley in the TV series, voiced by Jeffrey Tambor in the movie) is a fictional character in Nickelodeon's animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. The character has made three appearances (somehow, he looks completely different in each appearance). The first was in the episode "Neptune's Spatula." The second was in the episode "SpongeBob's House Party (Party Pooper Pants)," which had a live-action version of him. His third appearance was in the 2004 movie The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
with his daughter Princess Mindy, where he was one of the central characters. He's also one of the reappearing guest stars of the series. In the series, he has excellent taste in Krabby patties, and he takes SpongeBob SquarePants on as his own personal fry cook.

His name is taken from the ancient Roman god of the sea, Neptune.
