Kousoku Sentai Taaborenjaa (高速戦隊ターボレンジャー, High Speed Battle Team Turbo Ranger) was the 13th entry of Super Sentai series produced by Toei Company and Bandai. It was aired on TV Asahi on February 25, 1989 to February 23, 1990 with a total of 51 episodes.

It was celebrated of the 10th anniversary of Super Sentai series. But after Toei's official count, Goranger and JAKQ were re-included the format.

Plot

20,000 years ago, the Faerie race fought against the Violent Demon Tribes and sealed them away. Due to modern day pollution, the power of Faerie magic has weakened, allowing the seal to be undone and the Tribes escape. With the help of Dr. Dazai, Selon, the last of the Faeries, summoned five high school seniors. As children, they were showered with the "flames of spirit" of the fallen Faeries in a forest, and can now hear Selon's voice. Donning powered suits, the product of a collaboration between Seelon's magic and Dr. Dazai's science, the five become the Turborangers to fight the Demon Tribes.

Turborangers

The five rangers are all high school students.

Riki Honoo (炎力 Honô Riki) / Red Turbo (レッドターボ) : Brave high school baseball team captain. Armed with GT Sword, combines with Turbolaser sword mode for GT Crash move.

Daichi Yamagata (山形大地 Yamagata Daichi) / Black Turbo (ブラックターボ) : Patient track star. Armed with T Hammer.

Youhei Hama (浜洋平 Hama Yōhei) / Blue Turbo (ブルーターボ): Swimmer and high jumper. Armed with J Gun, can combine with Turbolaser gun mode.

Shunsuke Hino (日野俊介 Hino Shunsuke) / Yellow Turbo (イエローターボ): Gymnast. Armed with B Bowgun.

Haruna Morikawa (森川はるな Morikawa Haruna) / Pink Turbo (ピンクターボ): Student body President and brightest student in the school. Armed with W Stick.

Allies

Dr. Dazai (太宰博士 Dazai-hakase): Scientist who invented Turborangers' mecha.

Selon (山口美佐先生): 18 cm tall, last surviving Faerie. She can only be seen with the naked eye by the Turborangers. She teamed with Dr. Dazai to stop the Tribes.

Rakia (妖精シーロン): White-maned, winged holy beast defender of Earth.

100 Violent Demon Tribe

Lost to human-Faerie coalition 20,000 years ago. They are now free due to pollution having weakened the Faerie magic that sealed them. They intend to conquer Earth and eliminate humanity.

Great Emperor Ragorn: Leader of the demon tribe, initially partly immobile; 'dies' but returns as gold-skinned mobile Neo Ragorn. He faces the rangers as a giant in finale in which he is finally defeated for good or is it?

Dr. Rehda: Bereaded mystic genius. He inevitably dies at the hands of the Turborangers as well. He reveals ugly skin underneath his cloak.

Zimba: Samurai-like masked warrior in black armor. He went to challenge Red Turbo to a death duel. He was enlarged by Yamimaru after his death where he defeated Turborobo. He was destroyed by the Turbobuilder.

Princess Jarmin: Magician able to change herself into snake-faced form. She was able to summon her own monster from inside her body which she died after enlarging her personal minion.

Zulten: A fat creature able to turn into golf cart-like vehicle for Jarmin. He was also destroyed later.

Yamimaru, the Wandering Violent-Demon: Ploted the downfall of Ragorn along with Kirika. Disguises himself as a student named Nagareboshi Hikaru. Originally shaggy-haired, later gains flashy red and black armor. Armed with Shooting Star Gun, Darkknife, Darkaxe, Darkbow, Shooting Star Sword, Darksticks, Darkspear, Darkshuriken, Darkspider. He rides the giant bat Dragras.

Kirika: Half-human, half Violent-Demon. Disguises herself as a student named Tsukikage Sayoko. Armed with five-pointed Ringknife and can combine with Armor Violent-Demon to become Armored Kirika.

Wulars: Foot soldiers. Black-skinned grunts able to merge into ball-shaped Wular Dumplings.

Each arsenal has a set of group weapons and vehicles.
