| Leoben Conoy is a character in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series. Conoy is a humanoid Cylon agent who carries a bizarre demeanor. He fancies himself with philosophical discussion and religous enlightenment. Meanwhile he delights in playing mind games by engaging in distorted conversations that are entwined in both harrowing truth and wicked lies. He was first encountered in the Miniseries by Commander Adama hiding on the Ragnar Anchorage supply depot and posing as an arms dealer scrounging for weapon supplies. To avoid arrest, Conoy offers to "help" Adama's supply team gather cannon shells for Galactica's railguns. After an explosive is accidently detonated, Adama becomes trapped with Conoy and separated from the rest of the crew. While Adama looks for a way out, Conoy converses with him and reveals he's a Cylon when Adama notices he is "sick", (a condition suffered by Cylons who spend too much time in the radiation field emitted by the gas giant planet the supply depot orbits). In a struggle, Conoy reacts with amazing speed and strength, but Adama manages to kill him by bludgeoning him in the head with a flashlight. After Adama is rescued, Conoy's body is taken back to Galactica and examined, revealing the Cylons have developed technology to make bio-synthetic versions of themselves to pose as human. Just prior to his demise, Conoy reveals to Adama that Cylons "resurrect"; their personas downloaded into another copy upon death so that their experiences can be saved. In a sense, they never die. Unfortunately for Conoy, the radiation field prevented him for sending his signal back to the Cylon homeworld for proper resurrection. Thus, the next copies of Conoy encountered, will have no recollection of Adama's meeting. In the episode "Flesh and Bone", a copy of Conoy is found in the fleet hiding aboard the Gemenon Traveller and is arrested. After dodging questions, playing mind games and revealing he planted a bomb within the fleet, Conoy is brutally interrogated by Starbuck. President Laura Roslin intervenes the interrogation and questions Conoy more courteously, where Conoy reveals startling predictions about Kobol and the future of the fleet. After admitting there is no bomb and frightening Roslin by stating Commander Adama is a Cylon spy, Roslin has Conoy vented into space. In the final episode of 2nd season "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II", Conoy appears once again during the Cylon invasion of New Caprica. He asks Starbuck's husband Samuel Anders for Starbuck's whereabouts, but we don't yet know why.
