There is just one prominent family (the Yerradoddi's) which has produced many eminent individuals like Reddy Prasad. Mahal is also the name of a movie that pushed Lata Mangeshkar into stardom with her song Aayega Aanewaala (He will come) starring Ashok Kumar and Madhubala.
