Me, Myself and Irene is a 2000 Farrelly Brothers comedy film starring Jim Carrey and Renée Zellweger. Chris Cooper, Anthony Anderson, Jerod Mixon, and Richard Jenkins co-star.

Traylor Howard, Tony Cox, and Cam Neely have cameos, with the latter possessing the character name "Sea Bass," as a reference to Dumb & Dumber
, the first movie the Farrelly brothers collaborated on with Carrey (and Neely).

Plot

The film follows Charlie Baileygates (Carrey), a Rhode Island State Police trooper who has been taken advantage of by people throughout his life; even after marriage, his wife deserts him for a dwarf limo driver, who is really a college professor doing an experiment. The little professor beats him up, eventually steals his wife and leaves Charlie to raise the three African-American sons of his wife and the limo driver.

One day on patrol, a series of gradually building frustrations unleash "Hank Evans," which Boston doctors determine is an alternate personality and is diagnosed as advanced delusionary schizophrenia with involuntary narcissistic rage. Unlike Charlie, "Hank Evans" is a tough-as-nails, no-holds-barred straight shooter who will not let a single person cross him.

In an effort to quarantine potential effects his schizophrenia may have on the department or its surrounding community, the police chief orders Charlie to transport Irene (Zellweger), a woman who has a warrant for her arrest, home to New York for prosecution.

However, unexpected problems arise as both of Charlie's personalities begin to fall for Irene.

The soundtrack to the movie contains several covers of Steely Dan songs performed by other bands, as well as the song that plays in the movie when Charlie changes into Hank ("Fire Like This" by Hardknox).

Due to their work together on the film, Carrey and Zellweger briefly dated.
