Medicine Man is an American film, released in 1992 and directed by John McTiernan. It features Sean Connery as a doctor who ventures deep into the South American rain forest searching for new medicines on behalf of a drug company.

Summary

The doctor is joined by a woman (Lorraine Bracco), a representative of the sponsoring drug company, who believes he has 'gone native' and that his research project has gone off the rails. He had been expecting help, but he believed it would be a man. Over the course of the movie they endure the elements together and become friends. They even find a cure for cancer, which at the end of the movie is lost due to man's destruction of the rain forest.
