Movies - Memphis Belle

Memphis Belle is a 1990 film directed by Michael Caton-Jones
.

It is based on the 1944 documentary
Memphis Belle: A Story of a Flying Fortress
by director William Wyler, about the 25th and last bombing mission of a B17, the Memphis Belle.

The movie, which takes part in Germany during the World War II is about a crew of an airplane, called "Memphis Belle", named after the beloved girl of the pilot. In their 25th mission, the 10-man-crew has to bomb a factory in Bremen. At first, the flight is delayed because of cloud above the target, but finally they reach the target as the head of the squadron. During the flight, the radio-operator, Danny, is shot on his stomach, and the team stands on dilemma - either to parachute the injured man or not.
