Chasers

From Philosopher's Stone to Order of the Phoenix, the Chasers for the Gryffindor Quidditch team are the same three girls: Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet and Katie Bell. They are apparently very good at Quidditch and popular. Katie is one year older than Harry, and Angelina and Alicia are two years older than him. They appear to be a close-knit group both on and off the field. Harry sometimes notices them sitting together in the Gryffindor common room, talking quietly or working on homework, and when Harry was forming Dumbledore's Army, they came to the initial planning meeting in Hogsmeade together.

In Harry's sixth year, both Angelina and Alicia have already finished school, so Harry (as the new team captain) must find new chasers. One is Ginny Weasley
and one is Demelza Robins. Also, when Katie Bell is injured, Harry must use Dean Thomas as a reserve chaser.

Angelina Johnson

Angelina Johnson (born late October, 1977) is a tall black girl with long braided hair, two years older than Harry.

In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, she was among the people who entered their names to the Goblet as possible champions for Hogwarts, but was not selected. In the same book, she was asked by Fred Weasley to the Yule Ball and accepted. They made quite a pair, dancing so energetically together that other couples gave them a wide berth on the dance floor for fear of getting hurt. Lee Jordan also finds her quite attractive, and has apparently been trying to convince her to go out with him for several years, without any success.

After Oliver Wood left Hogwarts, Angelina became Quidditch captain and proved to be at least as demanding of her players as Oliver was. She attributed this hard-driving attitude to the stress of the job, and said once that she regretted having been so hard on Oliver when he was captain.

In the first three films, she is played by Danielle Taylor, who is also sometimes credited as Danielle Tabor. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, she was played by Tiana Benjamin
, who probably will be returning for Order of the Phoenix.

Alicia Spinnet

Alicia Spinnet was on the reserve team the year before Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, but she joined the team the next year. Alicia is most often the chaser who attempts penalty shots for Gryffindor when the other team commits a foul. She is played by Leilah Sutherland
in the first film, and Rochelle Douglas
in the second.

Katie Bell

Katie Bell joined the Gryffindor team in her second year (Harry's first) as a Chaser; originally, she was a reserve member. She is played by Emily Dale
in the films.

In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Katie is the only remaining member from the original team that Harry joined in his first year - she advises Harry not to discriminate in favour of old players like her but to hold trials for all. She succeeds in remaining one of the three Chasers of the team, along with Ginny Weasley
and Demelza Robins.
