| Mollywood refers to the Malayalam film industry in India, similar to terms such as Bollywood, Kollywood, Lollywood, and Tollywood. Mollywood is also used by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to refer to the fledgling Mormon film industry. In the Mormon use, the pun refers to the term "Molly Mormon", which indicates, in a sometimes condescending or self-critical but often jocular manner, the virtuous nature of the quintessential Mormon woman ("Peter Priesthood" for mormon men).
