| Monster X is a humanoid, half-skeletal dragon that appeared in the film Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). Summoned by the Xilians as their trump card against Godzilla, Monster X was at first encased inside a gigantic meteor that crash-landed in Tokyo, despite Godzilla's attempts to obliterate it with a super-charged spiral atomic beam. Monster X was the only kaiju that Godzilla wasn't able to vanquish almost immediately, and for the first half of the battle had overpowered Godzilla numerous times and proved invulnerable to Godzilla's atomic beam. Soon Monster X was joined by Gigan, and together the two double-teamed Godzilla; Monster X restrained Godzilla's arms from behind as Gigan hacked away at him with his dual chainsaws. Gigan was soon destroyed by Mothra, though, and Monster X faced Godzilla one-on-one once again. Godzilla soon gained the upper hand against Monster X, and had him on the ground as he pummelled away at Monster X's face with his fists, punching being an old ability not utilized since the Showa years. This advantage was eventually lost, however. Shortly after the Xilians and Mothership were destroyed and Monster X and Godzilla engulfed in an enormous conflaguration resulting from their beam weapons colliding, Monster X began transforming into a titanic, three-headed, four-legged monstrosity called Kaiser Ghidorah (also referred to as "Keizer Ghidorah"). In retrospect, many similarites to King Ghidorah can be noted especially the trio of golden lasers and the facial features of the three heads, as well the name, with Kaiser being German for Emperor. (Note: Kaiser Ghidorah's name is not mentioned in the film--Toho officially labeled him as "Monster X II", which also isn't uttered at all. Monster X's name isn't mentioned as well). PowersMonster X possessed incredible physical strength and was very fast. He showed a rather odd ability to fight with martial arts-style manuevers. He also presented the capability that he could defy gravity due to his slow descent from the sky. He also had the ability to fire golden gravity bolts from the eyes on his head and shoulders which were incredibly effective against Godzilla.OtherMonster X bears some very slight resemblance to Bagan (albeit, much smaller body frame and numerous other features) a kaiju who never made it into the movies, but did make an appearance as the final boss in the game Super Godzilla. Not only this, but it's entrance is almost exactly the same as Bagan's. Bagan enters in a giant ball of flesh that was sent from the alien ship while Monster X comes crashing into earth via a meteor.HistoryMonster X's origin is shrouded in great mystery. As previously mentioned, Monster X was encased inside an enormous meteor. However, the origin of the meteor itself is never presented. It's possible that Monster X may have been a native to Planet X being labeled under the "X" category, since a majority of objects or living beings originating from Planet X are labeled in such a manner.Category:Kaiju [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for Monster X ] Some related entries: A Fine Madness | Southlander | The Hotel New Hampshire | Underground | Ad Fundum | D.C.
