Movies - Motel Hell

Motel Hell is a 1980 horror comedy directed by Kevin Connor
and starring Rory Calhoun
as farmer, butcher, and meat entrepreneur Vincent Smith. It is a gory parody of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
and other 1970s slashers. John Ratzenberger
, later to become famous as the hapless mail carrier Cliff Clavin on TV's Cheers, has a minor role. Perhaps one of the more memorable lines in the movie has to do with karmic implications, "Sometimes I wonder about the karmic implications of these actions." The concept is that the farmers' actions will have positive karmic influence, to quote another line, "There's too many people in the world and not enough food. Now this takes care of both problems at the same time."

Tagline: It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent fritters.
