| My Summer Story is a film that follows the further adventures of Ralphie Parker and his family from the holiday hit, A Christmas Story. Like the other, it's based on semi-autobiographical stories by Jean Shepherd, from his book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash. It featured an entirely different cast, with the exception of Ralphie's teacher Miss Shields, who was played in both movies by Tedde Moore. Jean Shepherd provided the narration in both films, as the voice of the adult Ralphie. PBS made a series of TV movies based on the Parker family, including Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss, The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters, and The Phantom of the Open Hearth.
