Mystery Train is a 1989 comedy movie written and directed by independent film director Jim Jarmusch and set in Memphis, Tennessee.PlotThe Film is comprised of three different stories set on the same night, and linked by one tumble-down hotel run by Night Clerk, played hilariously Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and his dishevelled bellboy Cinque Lee and a scene featuring Elvis Presley's "Blue Moon" and a gunshot.the first; A Long Way From Yokohoma, features a teenage couple from Yokohoma, Japan Mitzuko and Jun travelling across America. Who have made an almost holy pilgrimage to Memphis Mitzuko is obsessed with Elvis Presley thier story simply follows thier holiday, including an exhuastive trip to Sun Records and the film's sex scene. thier story also features a cameo by legend Rufus Thomas as a old man in a train station. The Second follows a trying stop-over with an Italian Widower Luisa escorting her husband's coffin back to Italy. Stuck in Memphis for the Night with little money, after being conned twice she is forced to share a room with Dee Dee, a young woman who talks constantly, running out on her boyfriend, when Dee Dee does finally shut up and get to sleep, Luisa still doesn't get any sleep, after a visit from Memphis most famous export...Elvis Presley. In the The final; Lost In Space we get to meet Dee Dee's husband, Johnny played by former Clash frontman Joe Strummer, having drunk himself silly after loosing his job, and for brandishing a gun, Johnny, along with his buddy Will Robinson (former stand-up comic Rick Aviles) and brother-in-law Charlie (Steve Buscemi), robs a liquor store, killing the owner, and spend the night hiding out in the hotel getting drunk resulting in Charlie getting shot in the leg, only to find out that Johnny isn't his real brother-in-law! come morning the three escape a police car that isn't even looking for them.
