Near Dark (1987) is a modern day Vampire Western set in America written by Eric Red and directed by Kathryn Bigelow. This movie has a sizable cult following.

The main characters of the film are:

Severen (Bill Paxton
),
Diamondback (Jenette Goldstein
)
and Jesse Hooker (Lance Henriksen
).

The latter three all appeared in Aliens
(1986). The director of Aliens, James Cameron, is the ex-husband of Bigelow.
