North to Alaska is a 1960 comedic western directed by Henry Hathaway and starring John Wayne and Stewart Granger. The film is based on Ladislas Fodor play Birthday Gift. The film featured the hit Johnny Horton song of the same name, which topped Billboard Magazine's Country Singles chart and reached #4 on the Pop Singles chart.

Plot

After striking gold in Alaska, George Pratt (Stewart Granger) sends partner Sam McCord (John Wayne) to bring his fiance back from Seattle. Finding that George's fiance had already married another man, Sam brings back showgirl "Angel" (Capucine). When George rejects the replacement bride, Sam romances her instead. Meanwhile, con man Frankie Canon (Ernie Kovacs) threatens Sam and George's enterprise.
