Once Bitten is 1985 a movie about Mark, an innocent and naive high school student (played by Jim Carrey) who is seduced in a Los Angeles club by a sultry blonde countess (played by Lauren Hutton) who, unknown to him, is really a vampiress hundreds of years old, and who, in the course of the centuries, has collected a stable of young men who will accompany her on her journey through eternal night. While the high school prepares for a Halloween dance, she sets her sights on the teenager that will give her the additional years of life that she needs. To do this, she must steal Mark away from his girlfriend before Halloween passes, as she needs three shots of male virgin blood before the upcoming Halloween.

The movie title is a play on the familiar expression "once bitten, twice shy".
