Plot

In Oscar Sylvester Stallone plays the character Angelo "Snaps" Provolone. He promises his dying father Eduardo Provolone (Kirk Douglas
) to stop being a murdering gangster. Three weeks later he is about to invest his money into a bank to become a board member of that bank. His accountant arrives to ask for a raise, so he can get married. Only to find out that Mr. Provolone’s accountant intends to marry his daughter. Then learns that his accountant stole $50,000 (jewels) from him, his daughter claims she is pregnant in order to get sent away to a convent and out of the house. His accountant only thinks he is marrying his daughter, a different woman altogether who chose Angelo's name randomly from a newspaper headline. His maid quit to marry his daughter’s former arranged husband and accidentally took the $50,000, his accountant is now marrying this real daughter, Mr. Provolone’s daughter is now marrying an elocution professor, his accountant stole another $50,000 from him and the new maid is his former girlfriend that delivered a child, it’s his (female) child and she’s marrying his accountant. Much of the plot and humor centers on several identical black cases filled with jewels, money and underwear and Mr. Provolone’s struggle to adjust to a more normal life.
