Pan's Labyrinth (Spanish title:El Laberinto del Fauno) is a 2005 film directed by Guillermo del Toro. It is set in northern Spain in 1944.

Plot

PAN'S LABYRINTH is a fanciful and chilling story set against the backdrop of a fascist regime in 1944 rural Spain. The film's plot follows a 12-year-old girl, Ofelia (Ivana Baquero), who moves with her mother and stepfather, a military officer tasked with ridding the area of rebels, into a new home in the countryside. There, Ofelia, in her loneliness, creates a world filled with fantastical creatures and secret destinies. With post-war repression at its height, Ofelia must come to terms with her world through a fable of her own creation. She discovers an immense labyrinth guarded by a mythical creature named Pan (Doug Jones).
