| Pansy Parkinson is a fictional character in the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling - a Slytherin girl in Harry's year. Pansy is described as having a hard, pug-like face and she is often seen as Draco Malfoy's female counterpart, and his love interest by default. She was Draco's date at the Yule Ball, during which she wore frilly pale pink dress robes, and fawned all over him after he "broke" his arm in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. On the train ride to Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Draco's head lay in Pansy's lap as she stroked his hair with an expression of such smugness it was as though she thought anyone would give their life to be where she was. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, she joined the Inquisitorial Squad. She made sure to make the lives of the members of Dumbledore's Army miserable. She was the one who grabbed the list of members of Dumbledore's Army from the Room of Requirement. She can often be seen with Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle, and Blaise Zabini. She also can be found taunting and giggling with a gang of Slytherin girls. They all taunted Hermione Granger, but were stunned and jealous when she showed up at the Yule Ball beautiful and accompanied by international Quidditch player Viktor Krum. She fed Rita Skeeter false information on Harry, Hermione and Hagrid. In the first year, when Parvati Patil stood up for Neville Longbottom, Pansy teased her. She shrieked crude remarks about Cedric Diggory, Cho Chang's dead boyfriend, to Cho Chang and Harry Potter when they were dating. In fanfiction she is often portrayed in some versions as a spoiled brat, while in some versions where she is described as being attracted to Harry, and eventually becoming romantically involved with him. Pansy Parkinson appeared in the film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban played by Genevieve Gaunt.
