Plot

Jeff Matthews mother dies in a stage accident and Drew Gilbert has an abusive stepfather named Gus. Unusually pale with darkened rings around his eyes, Gus, or "the zombie guy" torments people for no reason, but is otherwise very compassionate. For instance, at one point in the film, John Connor is riding his bicycle, and some random kid on a dirtbike wearing cross earrings pulls up alongside John and steers him downhill off the road. Dazed after the accident, the random kid pulls John's bicycle next to his head and begins spinning the wheel so as to hurt the victim with the rapidly moving spokes. The zombie guy interferes with the random kid's plans by punching him in the face, taking his dirtbike and spinning its rear wheel at high speed, inches away from the random kid's face in a mockery of what the random kid had been doing to John. The random kid's scarf gets tangled in the wheel, pulling his face up into the tire and getting fatally scraped as a result. Of course the zombie guy is indifferent, if not slightly amused, and later spots his step-son above, who he proceeds to kill for no reason.
