The animated film "Pinnochio & the Emperor of The Night" should not be confused with the brilliant classic by Walt Disney in 1940. This animated film which runs for 87 minutes & is by th now-defunct Filmation Studios which subsequently released it in December 1987 has gained mixed reviews from many audiences & movie critics over the past 18 years. Some have called it a blantant "rip-off" while others have called it a masterpiece; albeit a little too scary for the much younger audience because of the fearsome appearence of the Emperor of the Night (hence the title of the movie). The movie opens with the arrival of a mysterious 16th century ship that moors onto the bankside of a river. A man steps out of the ship's opening & surveys the surrounding area. He speaks to someone
