The Plasmacaster, also know as the "tri-cannon" in some circles, is a fictitious weapon in the "Predator" movies. The Predator has the plasmacaster mounted on his left shoulder, and it is tied directly to his helmet. A three dot pattern is used to show the predator where the shot will go. If the Predator uses the correct vision mode for a certain enemy (thermal to hunt humans, electrical to hunt xenomorphs, and techo for predators) the plasmacaster will automaticallly lock on. It fires a bright blue pulse of energy in a straight line, and the shot can burn through metal and even cut through human flesh. The predator can control how much power is shot from the caster. In the movies, the Predator was able to fire the plasmacaster while using his cloaking shield generator. In the Aliens vs. Predator II though, firing any energy using weapon short circuts the cloak, as with the plasma pistol and water.
