Private Parts is an autobiographical story of Howard Stern's rise to shock jock success. It was published in book form in 1993, and a movie based on the book was released in 1997.

It is number 87 on the ALA's Most Challenged Books. Stern wrote a second memoir called "Miss America" a few years later.

Howard's love for his then-wife Alison is a central theme in the movie, and she even has a bit role as one of the receptionists at WNBC during the Lance Eluction segment. Unfortunately and ironically, Howard and Alison separated soon (2-3 years) after the movie. Some Howard Stern fans have suggested that the movie reflects matrimonial difficulties for the couple.

Howard's car, a 1970 Plymouth Valiant four door sedan is mentioned precisely once in the book and featured prominently in the movie.
