Rainy Season is a short horror story by Stephen King, published in Nightmares and Dreamscapes collection. It belongs to a sub-genre of stories about visitors stumbling upon an unknown little town with weird inhabitants. The visitors, young husband and wife, arrive in a small town by car during their vacation, only to be asked repeatedly to leave. They do not comply and choose to rent a house to stay in for awhile. They will discover that, as a price for prosperity of this town, it so happens that every seven years a husband and wife will come there from outside and will stay, despite duly protests, in time for the rainy season. Now it is their turn.
