Ram Teri Ganga Maili was a hit Bollywood movie made by Raj Kapoor after losing considerable amount of money in his last venture, Mera Naam Joker
. This movie stars Mandakini and Rajiv (Chimpu) Kapoor, son of the director producer Raj Kapoor. The success of the movies could only be explained by the trade pundits by the exploitation of Mandakini. The scene where she takes a bath in a waterfall is considered by some one of the most memorable ever presented on screen. She tried similar tactics in later movies without any success. It is widely believed that after seeing all of her in one movie the masses were no longer left with any curiousity and this resulted in the demise of her career.
