Real Women Have Curves (2002) is an American movie starring America Ferrera and George Lopez. It was directed by Patricia Cardoso and produced by HBO. The movie made more than five million dollars.

Story

The movie tells the story of Ana Garcia, a Mexican-American teenager. Ana is growing up in East Los Angeles, a community east of Los Angeles. Ana graduated from Beverly Hills High School (a real high school in Beverly Hills) and gets a scholarship to Columbia University in New York City. However, her mother wants her to work in a garment factory instead of going to a university. Ana must balance her mother's traditional view of women with her own.
