Sam Taylor (August 13, 1895 - March 6, 1958) was a film director, screenwriter, and producer.

Taylor is best known for his work with Harold Lloyd
, but he is also remembered for the infamous title card in his 1929
adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew: "By William Shakespeare, with additional dialogue by Sam Taylor".
