| Sam Taylor (August 13, 1895 - March 6, 1958) was a film director, screenwriter, and producer. Taylor is best known for his work with Harold Lloyd, but he is also remembered for the infamous title card in his 1929 adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew: "By William Shakespeare, with additional dialogue by Sam Taylor".
