| Samuel G. Engel (December 29, 1904 – April 7, 1984) was a film producer from the 1930s through the 1960s. He produced such films as The Frogmen (1951 film) and Night and the City (1950). Engel majored in chemistry and pharmacology at the University of Tennessee, before the New York-born Engel signed on as an assistant director at Warner Bros. in 1933. Three years later he was hired to be a producer at 20th Century Fox. And, after serving with the OSS and Navy in World War II, continued as a film producer with 20th Century Fox until 1962. Samuel G.
