Saw III is the scheduled third installment of the horror/thriller film series Saw
. The film will be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed Saw II
, produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules, and written by Leigh Whannell and James Wan. As of March 2006 the film is in pre-production and is tentatively slated for release on October 272006 by Lions Gate Films.

The film will be dedicated to Gregg Hoffman, the producer of the first two Saw movies, who passed away on December 4 2005 shortly after announcing the third installment of the Saw series.
