Scars of Dracula is a 1970 British horror film directed by Roy Ward Baker for Hammer Studios.

It stars Christopher Lee as Dracula, alongside Dennis Waterman, Jenny Hanley, Patrick Troughton, and Michael Gwynne. It is almost universally disparaged by critics, although in its favour it does restore a few elements of Bram Stoker's original character: The Count is introduced as an icily charming host; he has command over nature; and he is seen scaling the walls of his castle like a bat.

On the minus side, Dracula is seen torturing a servant with a red-hot sword, stabbing a woman to death and being struck by lightning. The opening scene of Dracula being revived by a blood-puking fake looking bat is the nadir of resurrection scenes.

Trivia

This was the last Hammer Film Production Dracula film starring Christopher Lee
set entirely in the past. The next film Dracula AD 1972
brought Dracula into the present day.
