School Ties was a 1992 film directed by Robert Mandel that launched the acting careers of Matt Damon (The Bourne Identity 2002), Ben Affleck (Pearl Harbor 2001), and Chris O'Donnell (Batman and Robin 1997). Anthony Rapp (Rent 2005) also appears in this film.

Brendan Fraser (Encino Man 1992, The Mummy 1999) plays the lead role as David Green, a Jewish high-school student who transfers from a Pennsylvania public school to a New England prep school after he is awarded an athletic scholarship.

Interesting facts

The scene shot at Skip's Blue Moon Diner was filmed in Gardner, Massachusetts.

Most of the movie was filmed on location at Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts. It is also a private boarding school, similar to the one depicted in the movie. David Greene (Brendan Frasier) is forced to deal with anti-Semitism as the only Jewish student at a Christian Academy.
