Seed of Chucky (also known as Child's Play 5: Seed of Chucky). This 2004 sequel is the fifth and most likely final movie in the popular Child's Play series which began with Child's Play
in 1988 and was followed by Child's Play 2
in 1990, Child's Play 3
in 1991 and Bride of Chucky
in 1998. Seed of Chucky follows the events of Bride of Chucky
and stars Jennifer Tilly (who plays herself and also voices Tiffany) and Brad Dourif (as the voice of Chucky). The movie also stars rapper Redman and director John Waters. It was written and directed by Don Mancini (who created Child's Play and has written all of its sequels to date).

The movie, shot in Romania, continues the series' evolution from the pure-horror seen in the first movie to a hybrid horror-comedy. In addition to spoofing other horror movies, domestic dramas such as Kramer Vs. Kramer were also referenced.

Tagline: Fear the second coming. Tagline #2: Time to raise some hell. Tagline #3: Deliver us some evil.

Plot summary

This film introduces a gender-confused doll named Glen (voiced by Billy Boyd), who is the child of Chucky and Tiffany. When he sees his parents in a commercial for an upcoming Chucky movie called Chucky goes Psycho, he goes to Hollywood. Once there, he uses Chucky's amulet to transfer Chucky's and Tiffany's souls into the new dolls that the studio is using for their movie. Chucky and Tiffany later decide that they want another child and that the mother should be Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany's favorite star and the star of Chucky goes Psycho).

Trivia

Chucky kills Britney Spears
by running her off the side of the road while he and Glen are driving a sports utility vehicle. Since Britney in the film was portrayed by a look-alike, TV spots for the movie displayed this message: "Britney Spears Does Not Appear In This Movie". The reason for this was that Britney Spears and her management were concerned that people might be led to believe that Britney actually appeared and "died" in the movie.
The gender-confused child of Chucky and Tiffany is named either Glen or Glenda. This is an obvious tribute to Ed Wood, Jr.'s movie Glen or Glenda.
The personality of the murderous "lady-killer" that Glen becomes while wearing the dress and the wig is a homage to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho
and Brian De Palma's Dressed to Kill

There is also a reference to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining
, when Chucky breaks down the hospital room door with an axe, a la Jack Nicholson
. After a long pause, instead of repeating the famous line "Here's Johnny!!!", he says he can't think of a thing to say.
Former S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt
appears in the film as Joan - Jennifer Tilly
's PA.
