Seems Like Old Times is a 1980 comedy film (See: 1980 in film) starring Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn and directed by Jay Sandrich.

Neil Simon takes the writing credits, and the movie is sometimes known as Neil Simon's Seems Like Old Times.

Overview

Plot Overview

Nick Gardenia (Chase), ex-husband of Glenda Parks (Hawn), seems to have the worst luck of anyone in the world. After he is forced to rob a bank, and becomes a fugitive, he seeks help from the only person he can trust: Glenda, who is now a public defender who often takes in her clients. The trouble is, her new husband, Ira Parks is a district attorney and prosecutor who dislikes Nick, for obvious reasons. All parties involved, including Glenda's five dogs, cause a huge amount of trouble and insanity in the household.

Grodin is a "do-it-by-the-book" prosecutor married to his oppisite, Hawn, who used to be married to a goofy and charming down-on-his-luck writer. When he is in need of help, he turns to his ex-wife who just can't turn him away, which turns into madness.

Reaction

While never extremely popular, it seemed to definitely appeal to fans of Chevy Chase and those who liked the on-screen duo of he and Hawn, as they had recently seen in 1978's Foul Play
