Sentinel Prime is a character in the Transformers Universe.

Sentinel Prime was the immediate predecessor of Optimus Prime, killed violently by Megatron on Cybertron. At the time of his death, he was not in possession of the Matrix. (Ref: War Within Vol. 1, Issue 1).

His name is taken from issue #65 of the original Marvel comic book in which all the past Matrix holders are listed and he precedes Optimus Prime.
