SkyLand, is a CGI cartoon developed in partnership in Canada/France/Luxembourg for Teletoon (Canada), the NickToons Network (USA), Canal France 2 (France) and CiTV (Channel and slot on ITV1 in the UK). It is scheduled to be launched in April of 2006. A one hour, worldwide preview was aired on November 26, 2005 at 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM EST and again and 11:00 PM as well as at 8:00 PM and 11:00 the following day.

Synopsis

Set in the year 2251, Skyland depicts a future where the Earth has been broken into separate blocks which orbit a core, known as "Skyland". Water has become the most precious commodity. A power-mad dictator, Oslo, has established a controlling entity known as the "Sphere", which has seized control of water resources throughout the area.

Certain people possess a set of special abilities which include telekinesis and the ability to shoot blasts of energy. They are referred to as "Seijen". Oslo, a Seijen himself, used his Seijen abilities to rise to power. Oslo does not have unanimous control over all of Skyland, and intends to coerce Mila (another Seijen) into working with him in order for him to become an ultimate ruler.

However, the Sphere has become corrupt and is feared by the people. Their hope is the Pirate Rebellion, a band of rebels who refuse to submit to the Sphere. Skyland follows the efforts of two children, Mahad and Lena, as they join the Pirate Rebellion, help them to bring down the Sphere, and stop Oslo from achieving his goal of absolute power.
