Steven Woolley (born December 2 1952) in London is a British film producer. During his 30 year career he has supported many award winning Directors from the British Isles onto international careers most notably his partnership with Neil Jordan and has played a key role in maintaining an independent British film industry.

After working as a programmer for The Screen on the Green and Scala Cinemas in London, where he won cult status for building interest in then obscure directors such as David Lynch Woolley set up the distribution company Palace Pictures. His first hits came with UK distribution of Diva
and The Evil Dead
in both cases fashioning promotional campaigns that were 'cool' and appealed to a youth audience. The Evil Dead also marked the beginning of Woolley relationship with Harvey Weinstein and Miramax which provided funding and US distribution for many later projects.

With support from Channel 4 Woolley produced Neil Jordan's first feature The Company of Wolves
. The pair had critical success with Mona Lisa
but Woolley was mired in the box office and critical disaster of Julien Temple's Absolute Beginners
in 1986. Woolley bounced back with an Oscar nomination for best film for Jordan's The Crying Game
