The story is as follows: a local girl (Diane Lane) made good goes back to her roots to give a concert in her home town and in the middle of her song gets kidnapped by Raven (Willem Dafoe), the leader of the bike gang 'The Bombers'. Trivia

  • Dan Hartman's "I Can Dream About You" is the most successful song from this movie and still plays on the radio.
  • Two Wagnerian rock songs written by Jim Steinman made this movie more colourful for his fans. The songs are "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" and "Nowhere Fast", both performed by Fire Inc. with Holly Sherwood as lead vocal. The title of the former was even used as the tagline on promotional materials for the film. However, they passed by unnoticed unlike his other songs, but his fans usually have a consensus that they are two of his best songs to date .
  • The setting of the story is "another time, another place." It shows many elements taken from the 1950s, 1960s and also the 1980s simultaneously. The overall style suggests a near future dystopia.
  • The part of ex-army girl was originally written as a male.
