The Stunticons are a group of Decepticons feared for their pyschotic behavior that have the capablity to do deadly stunts and wreak havoc on the streets. They form a powerful giant robot called Menasor. They were called "Stuntrons" in Japan. They were introduced into the Transformers toyline in 1985 and sold as a Menasor gift set, and then sold separately in 1986 in most department stores (e.g., Toys R' Us, Sears, Kay-Bee Toys). Their archenemies are the Aerialbots.Stunticon membersThe five Stunticons are:
US cartoon (G1)When the Decepticons failed to steal a super fuel from the Autobots, Megatron hatched a plan to counterattack the Autobots by creating a team of Decepticon super-cars for more power on the road. They started by stealing five Earth vehicles. The first vehicle stolen was a yellow six tired Formula-1 car (Elf Racer) during race. Next were a maroon Porsche 928, and a grey double-roofed semi tractor trailor. Later, two more cars showed up: a white Lamborghini, and a dark grey Ferrari. The cars were soon converted to Decepticons. Megatron tested out the new robots' abilities on the roads and the through the woods. Rumble stated "Incredible, not even the Autobots can do that kind of stunt driving!" Megatron replied "Stunt driving? Yes-sss. Behold, the Stunticons!" and dubbed the team the "Stunticons". The Aerialbots were soon built by the Autobots as a countermeasure to the Stunticons.Marvel ComicsThrough Soundwave, Megatron was able to tap into the Creation Matrix as Optimus Prime gave life to the Aerialbots, simultaneously giving life to the Stunticons. They battled the Aerialbots and then played a lesser role in the series as more characters were introduced.Dreamwave ComicsThe robots who became the Stunticons existed long before they arrived on Earth. Motormaster in particular was a right-hand bot of Starscream. Sometime between the first and second War Within volumes, the team formed and were configured as combiners. They later joined Starscream's team of Predacons. In volume 3, Motormaster was responsible for shooting and nearly killing Grimlock (while attempting to assinate Ultra Magnus) before being blasted himself. The series was discontinued however and their fate was unrevealed until the second G1 mini-series where Menasor battled (and was defeated by) Ultra Magnus on Cybertron. With the closure of Dreamwave, the fate of the Stunticons is unknown.Generation TwoThere were plane to release the Stunticons as Generation Two toys, and prototypes were even made in new colors (Drag Strip was black for instance), but the toys were never released to the public, with the exception of one. The G2 Breakdown was a Botcon exclusive.Transformers: CybertronThe Menasor name was used for a Large-scale drill vehicle from Giant Planet (Gigalonia) that sided with Megatron. Menasor eventually joined back his leader Metroplex after seeing that he was in the wrong to have joined the Decepticons in the first place. His Japanese counterpart is known as Moledive instead. http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/3029/menasor4rx.pngTransformers: UniverseThe Stunticons were planned to be released as repainted Spychanger toys for the Universe line, as counterparts to the Generation One Commerative Autobot Spychangers, but they were never released.Another unreleased Universe toy was a black Decepticon repaint of the mold used formerly for Thunderclash and Machine Wars Optimus Prime. This toy was to be called Menasor.
