| Sunny is the name of two films based upon a musical comedy play by Oscar Hammerstein II and Otto Harbach. The first version, in 1930, was adapted to the screen by Henry McCarty and Humphrey Pearson, with additional music by Jerome Kern. It stars Marilyn Miller, Lawrence Gray, Joe Donahue and O.P. Heggie. It was directed by William A. Seiter. The second version, in 1941, was adapted by Sig Herzig and was directed by Herbert Wilcox. It stars Anna Neagle, Ray Bolger, John Carroll, Edward Everett Horton, Grace Hartman, Paul Hartman, Frieda Inescort and Helen Westley. The plot involves Sunny, the star of a circus act, who falls for a rich playboy, but comes in conflict with his snooty family.
