| Huo shao hong lian si (The Burning of the Red Lotus Temple) is a 1928 Chinese silent movie about the rescue of a commander held captive in a temple full of traps. The director, Zhang Sichuan, adapted the film from the novel The Tale of the Extraordinary Swordsman. The movie sold out for 23 days straight. It is one of the longest films ever produced, running 27 hours in total. It was released in 18 feature-length parts between 1928 and 1931.
