The Closet is a French film originally titled Le Placard. It is a comedy directed by Francis Veber and was released in 2000.

Synopsis

François Pignon, a man of sober dress and discrete allure, is content to live quietly in an unremarkable life.

When he learns he is going to be fired from his job, he confides in Jean-Pierre Belone, his neighbour, who proposes propagating the rumor that he is homosexual. When he comes out, his bosses decide to keep Pignon in order to be "politically correct." However, the entire company finds out about this and he is soon ridiculed.
