The Color of Friendship (2000) is an Emmy Award-winning movie about the friendship between two girls from different worlds who learn to overcome their differences. The film, which was released by Walt Disney Home Video, was directed by Kevin Hooks, based on a script by Paris Qualles.

The story, which was inspired by true events, tells of the friendship between the daughter of an African American congressman and her budding friendship with a white exchange student from South Africa, who grew up under the apartheid system. Both girls must overcome their prejudices and preconceptions to build a meaningful friendship.
