| The Edukators (German title: Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei; literally "The days of plenty are over") is a fictional German-Austrian film made by the austrian director Hans Weingartner and released in 2004. Nominated for the "Golden Palm Award" in 2004 Cannes Film Festival, it stars Daniel Brühl and Julia Jentsch. The Edukators is 127 minutes long. A young waitress becomes close with two relatively non-violent activists who "educate" upper-class people by breaking into their houses, moving furniture around, and leaving irksome notes. The two young men carry out their strikes against local yacht club members and are successful in their activities until both they and the young waitress get involved in an unplanned kidnapping of a wealthy businessman. Political ideologies, but more so the characters' relationships, are the deep issues in this film.
