The Evening Star is a 1996 sequel to the Oscar-winning Terms of Endearment
, starring Shirley MacLaine who reprises the role of Aurora Greenway she played in the original.

Miranda Richardson co-starred in a memorable role as toxic Houston divorcee and Aurora Greenway's rival, Patsy Carpenter. Juliette Lewis starred as Aurora's rebellious granddaughter, Marion Ross (Golden Globe nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category), Bill Paxton starred as Aurora's psychiatrist and short-time lover, Donald Moffatt and Ben Johnson also appeared, with a brief appearance from Jack Nicholson, playing the role he played in Terms of Endearment
, Garrett Breadlove.
