Movies - The Funky Phantom

The Funky Phantom was a Saturday morning cartoon, produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1971 for ABC. A direct clone of Hanna-Barbera's successful Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, The Funky Phantom featured three teenagers; Skip (voiced by Micky Dolenz
), April (Tina Holland), Augie (Tommy Cook) and their dog Elmo. These four living beings solved spooky mysteries with two ghostly companions, a Revolutionary War-era ghost named Jonathan Wellington "Mudsy" Muddlemore (with Daws Butler
referencing his Snagglepuss
voice for Mudsy) and his cat, Boo. The animation was produced for Hanna-Barbera by Australian studio Air Programs International.

Mudsy appeared in the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim program, Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, where the question "What makes the Funky Phantom so funky?" is finally answered.
