| The Matthew Shepard Story is a 2002 television movie about the trial of the killers of Matthew Shepard. It starred Stockard Channing as Judy Shepard and Sam Waterston as Dennis Shepard, the parents, and Shane Meier as Matthew Shepard. It seeks to illuminate the decisions Judy and Dennis Shepard had to make deciding with regard to whether the death penalty should be sought for their son's killer.
