| The Orchid House was a book published in 1953, and the only novel written by Dominican writer Phyllis Shand Allfrey. It was turned into a four-part miniseries for British television's Channel 4 in 1991; Horace Ové directed it. Originally published by Constable, it was reissued in 1982 by Virago Press. An American edition appeared in 1996.
