The Punisher 2 is the sequel to the 2004 movie The Punisher
starring Thomas Jane as The Punisher and John Travolta as Howard Saint (though it is unknown how the character will be brought back, as he almost certainly died in the first film). Not many details are known about the upcoming movie. Though it has been revealed that the opening scene of the storyline In The Beginning from the MAX line Punisher comics by Garth Ennis will be the opening scene of the movie. There are other expected changes from the first film headed by Tom Jane himself such as moving the setting to New York. A flashback to Desert Storm with reference to events from the graphic novel Born by Garth Ennis and much more violence. As the end of 2005, the only official returning cast will be Thomas Jane and Jonathan Hensleigh is returning for writing credits and is hopefully going to direct as well. The script is titled The Punisher 2: War Zone (unconfirmed working title). The character Jigsaw is also rumoured to be the villain of the film. Thomas Jane has recently said that filming for the sequel might begin in the summer.
